AfroSkeptic
Hi there! Welcome to AfroSkeptic. I started this blog so that I can freely share my thoughts and feelings as a Black-Irish teenage girl who questions everything due to the autistic need to know “why”.
This blog acts as a safe space for me to share my raw thoughts and ideas about the Pandora’s box that we call society. My hope is that I can share my thoughts, feelings and experiences as a neurodivergent person of colour and others can relate as well as share their own!
Subscribe to the blog to stay tuned 🙂

- “Appiah’s Cosmopolitanism as a Rejection of Hume’s Prejudices”This is a Leaving Cert Politics essay I wrote in class exploring the contrast between David Hume’s exclusionary view of diversity and Kwame Anthony Appiah’s inclusive theory of cosmopolitanism. The piece challenges Enlightenment assumptions and argues for a more global, ethical framework that recognizes shared humanity across cultural and racial lines.
- Unseen Prejudices: Exploring Subconscious Bias in Everyday LifeAs a young Black person, I see how fear of being labeled racist stops meaningful conversations about bias. Racism exists on a spectrum, from microaggressions to overt hate, yet many remain unaware of their impact. Change begins with accountability, listening, and understanding that confronting bias is essential for unity and progress.
